Arts and Adventure Abound This Summer at Sol & Luna Lodge and Spa in Peru
A true delight for patrons of the arts, Sol & Luna has four on-property acrobats who formerly worked for Cirque du Soleil that regularly perform for guests, changing their routine weekly. Guests enjoy unrivaled sunset views in the breathtaking Urubamba Valley, part of the Sacred Valley of the Incas, while the acrobats perform outdoors with a full set of equipment including trapeze set, ropes, and a crew that maintains a light and musical show.

Guests visiting this summer will be in for an extra special treat, as local artist Federico Bauer is living at the hotel and painting new murals on the outside of each casita. The arts-focused hotel boasts gorgeous local pieces throughout, all reminiscent of the surrounding Urubamba Valley and in harmony with one another. Bauer visits the property once every couple of years to completely change all the murals on the outside of the casitas. Machu Picchu is a stone's throw away via Inca Rail, which is the premier luxury rail service that transports guests from the Sacred Valley up the mountain to the ancient ruins of Machu Picchu. Located a short ride away from Sol & Luna, it takes guests only an hour and a half to arrive to the site, allowing guests the opportunity to visit for just a day if they so desire. Sol & Luna rates start at USD 266 per night. The hotel also has a non-profit arm to the company called the Sol y Luna Foundation, which funds a nearby school and offers numerous volunteer activities to guests while they are visiting.
