Explore the French Riviera on a Luxury Yacht Charter
December 13, 2013
The south of France is renowned for its chic and sophisticated villages; with designer boutiques, gourmet restaurants and world famous casinos. From the fashionable beaches of St. Tropez to the glamorous promenades of Cannes, or further on to the exquisite Palaces of Monaco, that unmistakeable Riviera atmosphere abounds.
So what better way to vacation on the French Riviera than by luxury yacht? Cruising aboard a yacht affords the opportunity to explore exciting new destinations amidst luxury, comfort and absolute privacy. With professional crew at your service, you can relax and unwind in style, and experience the Mediterranean’s most beautiful waters. You might think that renting a yacht on the French Riviera will require Bill Gate’s Amex card… However, it is possible to rent a good sized private luxury yacht without spending any more than you might spend on a good luxury hotel.
M/Y REHAB – Sunseeker Predator 68
This Sunseeker Predator 68 is the perfect way to explore the French Riviera for a day, or even for a long weekend. It is an open styled motor yacht, perfectly designed for outdoor living in the summer azure months with its generous sun pads and alfresco dining. And for the sporty types, there is a high power jet tender for water-skiing, wake-boarding, and ringo rides.
Accommodation is very spacious, with two en-suite staterooms and an open luxury salon with bar. An experienced crew of captain and hostess will take care of your every need (including light meals aboard) and will be able to show you those hidden gems along the coast.
M/Y NUMBER – Ferretti 570 Motor Yacht
This fly bridge motor yacht is the ideal self-catering choice; there is a captain-only crew, who will be responsible for helming the yacht and organising the week on your behalf (such as port & restaurant bookings, transfers, cleaning etc). Think of the captain as your own personal butler for the week, totally discrete and almost unnoticed, but working quietly in the background he takes the hassle out of yachting for you. Of course an additional hostess is available if required, but guests who book this yacht are generally looking for a bit more freedom and independence from crew, and prefer to organize all their own in-house affairs…
This Ferretti is a brand new design with the latest open plan contemporary designs – the sophisticated Italian interior is light and airy, and arranged for late night entertaining. Spacious accommodation comprises of three luxury en-suite cabins, there is a covered fly-bridge with BBQ, wet bar, al fresco dining, and there is of course a tender for water-skiing and getting ashore in style. Prices from $ 24,000 USD per week, that’s only $ 4,000 per head.
What about itinerary? Well, the beauty of your own yacht is that you can take each day as it comes and head where the fancy takes you. Perhaps start your adventure in Monaco, and join in the hectic social calendar: the Grand Prix, the Opera, concerts, tennis tournament… aperitifs at the Hotel de Paris, dinner at Rampoldis, and dancing at Jimmyz nightclub. The next day the coastline between the seaside towns of Villefranche, Beaulieu and Cap-Ferrat is superb and well worth stopping for lunch. Then up anchor in the afternoon and your luxury yacht charter takes you on to Italy. The small historic fishing village of Portofino is both charming and picturesque and its waters are famous for their many dolphins. On the other side of the headland is the quaint fishing village of Camogli, while the nearby port of Santa Margherita Ligure is home to some excellent restaurants. Perhaps head back to the Riviera - you may like go ashore and go shopping in Cannes or Golfe Juan. Alternatively you might like to visit the nearby Isles de Lérins, a group of four islands that include the Île de Saint-Honorat and the Île Sainte-Marguerite. Whichever direction you head, you will be sure to have an unforgettable vacation on the French Riviera.
