When in 1926 Max Stern arrived in the USA with nothing but a birdcage of canaries, he was carrying the beginnings of what would become the USA's largest pet supplier. This beginning has shaped the ethos of this family business and is essential to the spirit of the Soho and Tribeca Grand Hotels.
