For a moment of prolonged relaxation, guests can step out from the hotel's NUXE Spa Les Bains de Léa on to the panoramic Jacuzzi-terrace, on the seventh floor of Bordeaux's palatial-like hotel, from which they can soak up the sun's rays. Inspired by the nearby Bassin d'Arcachon (in English, Arcachon Bay), part of the roof terrace will be transformed to re-create this stunning natural landscape in the heart of the city, with pine trees and sand dunes, as well as white curtains to create an additional level of privacy.

Accomplished Spa Manager David Lestelle has created a range of spa treatments especially for this outdoor space. These will include a NUXE Prodigious Oil massage on the sand, using smooth methodical strokes to transport guests to the Bassin d'Arcachon – an oasis of calm overlooking the rooftops of Bordeaux.

The Bassin d'Arcachon Spa package starts from €453 (approx. US$600), including a private spa treatment with one night in a deluxe room and daily breakfast.

This new outdoor spa treatment area will be a year-round fixture at Grand Hôtel de Bordeaux & Spa.

As the sun settles down on 30 May 2013, and the night awakes, Grand Hôtel de Bordeaux & Spa will debut its ‘Night Beach' bar with a spectacular launch party. Taking advantage of Bordeaux's warm evening climate, the roof terrace bar will be open from 7pm to 1am, with a DJ playing upbeat live lounge music, signature libations being concocted under the stars, and a wide selection of tapas by Executive Chef Pascal Nibaudeau doing the rounds.

For hotel guests and Bordeaux's well-heeled crowd wanting to unwind in a stylish and relaxed setting, this prime location will provide the ideal environment to enjoy cocktails and watch the sun set across this magical city. A series of themed evenings throughout the ‘Night Beach' season are also planned.
