St. Kitts' Christophe Harbour Breaks Ground on Marina Village

St. Kitts' Christophe Harbour Breaks Ground on Marina Village
The 11,000-square foot Customs House, along with the adjacent luxury retail shops, will be the anchor amenities for the emerging marina village.

To bring this next phase to life, Christophe Harbour has enlisted the Cayman-based Phoenix Group, a family-owned residential and commercial construction company. Phoenix has more than 35 years' experience in the Caribbean and is well known for its high standards in design, build quality and schedule discipline.

Classic and timeless, the Customs House resembles a formidable shipping building or wharfside warehouse built long ago. Haley was inspired by historic maritime buildings from around the world and by St. Kitts' storied past. Crafting the new in the style of the old, Haley has incorporated architectural elements reminiscent of the century-old treasury building in St. Kitts' capitol Basseterre and thoughtful elements such as local volcanic “plantation” stone and handmade brick detailing throughout the three-story structure.

Debuting in spring 2017, the Customs House will include a real estate discovery center, marina operations, customs and immigration, crew lounge, and fitness centre. Each space was meticulously designed to feel authentic, grounded in history, and provide a sense of discovery and intrigue around every corner.

Retail is slated to open in January 2017 followed in early spring by the debut of Christophe Harbour's Park Hyatt St. Kitts. The seven retail bays will flank the Customs House and feature upscale men and women's swimwear and luxury resort wear as well as a specially-commissioned rum shop featuring high-quality, small batch spirits from around the region. The boutiques on the north side also include a rooftop terrace for private functions overlooking the marina and Caribbean Sea.
